Giuliana Ransic, Kelly Bensimon, and Karina Smirnoff at the Spiegel Swim Event, Miami Beach

This weekend I covered the Spiegel Swim + Travel Launch Party for Haute Living at the Gansevoort's Plunge Rooftop Lounge. E!'s Giuliana Ransic, New York "Housewife"/former model Kelly Bensimon, and "Dancing With the Stars" dancer Karina Smirnoff, all walked the red carpet. Photos from the party are up on Haute Living's blog, but for LuvLi I just wanted to focus on the clothes.

To start, we all know these sorts of events are all about branding. The ladies all wore Spiegel but they all missed the mark to some extent.

Giuliana Ransic

Though Giuliana had the most weather appropriate dress, the leopard print did nothing for her (and not to mention this was a day event.) Though I love her ombre hair, I felt like it should have been pulled back some. The neckpiece is my favorite touch of the entire ensemble.

Kelly Bensimon

We get it Kelly, you used to model and you still like to rock-the-bod after two kids. We could have done without the crotch action though. All black at high noon just doesn't make sense either. Whoever advised her to do the casual white flip-flops needs to reevaluate their styling.

Karina Smirnoff

Karina is gorgeous and probably has the best, most youthful body out of the three ladies. Why she decided to covered up in an all-black one piece is beyond me. And with boots! A strappy heel maybe, a pop of color?
